I have long wanted to write about Singapore Founding Father's Mr Lee Kuan Yew Orders and Medals. Mr Lee just celebrated his 91st birthday last month, so it is excellent occasion to highlight his foreign awards.

 Mr Lee has not been conferred any Singapore Order or Medal. His foreign awards can found in the book "Lee Kuan Yew, A Pictorial Biography" published by Lianhe Zhaobao in 1994.

Mr Lee has only been conferred 12 foreign Orders (excluding the Honorary Citizen of New Orleans and Man of Peace Award, and Including the Russia's Order of Honour awarded to him in Jan 2014).

1962 - Grand Cordon of the Order of the Nile, United Arab Republic (Eqypt) 

1963 - Cambodia's Grand Cross of the Royal Order

1967 - Japan's First Class Order of the Rising Sun

1970 - Britain's Companion of Honour

1972 - Britain's Order of St. Michael and St. George, G.C.M.G.

1973 - Indonesia's Bintang Repulblik Indonesia Adi Pradana

1974 - Philippines' Order of Sikatuna

1979 - South Korea's Grand Gwanghwa Order

1984 - Malaysia, Johore's The Most Honourable Order of the  Crown of Johore

1988 - Pakistan's Nishan-I-Quad-I-Azam (Ref: Lee Kuan Yew, A Pictorial Biography)

1990 - Brunei's The Most Esteemed Family Order, DK [The Darja Kerabat Laila Utama]

2014, January - Former PM Lee Kuan Yew given Russia's Order of Honour (The Straits Times) 

On 28 March 2015, I added:

Our Nation may consider instituting a new Order (The Order of Lee Kuan Yew) to honour the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew's contributions to our country. Alternately, we can rename one of our existing Orders (The Order of Temasek or The Order of Nila Utama) as The Order of Lee Kuan Yew in his honour.
